Having a smoothie for your breakfast is a great way to start the day and pack in some of your 5 a day but it doesn’t always leave you feeling nourished.
You might have tried the recent craze of overnight oats, but have you blended your porridge oats into a smoothie yet?
If you’re looking for a high protein breakfast that’s guaranteed to fill you up and keep you going on a busy morning then chuck in some oats for added fibre!
Turn your morning cup of coffee into a delicious bowl of goodness with this simple and super tasty vegan friendly recipe.

- Porridge oats (15g)
- 1 banana (keep some slices aside to decorate glass)
- 1 dessert spoon cacao powder (8g)
- 1 scoop of Prana Protein Chocolate Vegan Blend (30g)
- 200ml almond milk (or your own preference)
- Vanilla flavouring (a few drops)
- 1 tsp coconut sugar (4g)
- 1 heaped teaspoon of instant coffee (dissolved in hot water, minimum amount)
Jazz it up with: Banana, freeze dried raspberries, 3 fresh raspberries and desiccated coconut.
Using a blender, blend the porridge oats for around 20 seconds until they are finely ground. Combine the rest of the ingredients and blend for a further 20 seconds.
Take the banana slices set aside and press fairly firmly onto side of glass until they stick. Pour smoothie into glass and decorate with fresh raspberries, banana and desiccated coconut.
Eat straight away or store it in the fridge and save it for later!
Tip: Adjust the amount of almond milk used to suit your desired eating/pouring consistency.
